Moab… Day 6
Our last ride here in Moab we went to Posin Spider a local bike shop to find a great place to ride. We found “The Sovereign Singletrack” which was a new tail as of 2003, the locals say it’s destined to become one of the Top 10 trails of the Moab area. This narrow singletrack trail combines dirt, open rock, ledges, climbs, and views. It’s great fun, but we don’t recommend it for beginners. Consider this an intermediate to advanced trail, moderately strenuous.

Moab… Day 5
…THis was one of my favorites. It was mainly downhill a great chance to put my freeride bike to use. Heres a great discription, ”The Porcupine Rim Trail is the “other” famous ride at Moab. At 15.6 miles, requiring expert technical skills, this ride is for advanced bikers who are in good shape. It’s one-way with a shuttle car, or a 34-mile loop for the truly insane (10 uphill miles from Moab to the trailhead, 8 flat miles from Jackass Canyon back to the middle of Moab).”

Moab… Day 3
This trail really, really sucked!!! We ended up getting lost on this trail and wound up riding like 30+ miles. Here is the description of the loop we should of road. The Jackson Hole Loop is one of the meanest little rides in Moab. Gregg Bromka, author of “Mountain Biking Utah,” calls it “gonzo, abusive, and sick.” No argument here. But this loop offers great scenery, some cool cruising, more than a few riding challenges, an insane portage, and a gnarly tech downhill. No other ride in Moab gives you “crazy-biker” bragging rights like Jackson Hole.

Moab… Day 2
….The Klondike Bluffs Trail is a modest climb, but isn’t too technically difficult. It’s a good trail for someone who’s in good shape, but is inexperienced in mountain biking. It makes an excellent first “slickrock adventure.” Round trip, it’s 9.6 miles on the bike and 1 mile on foot (bikes aren’t allowed off-road in Arches National Park, so you hike the last half mile).

Moab… Day 1
Here is a discription of the trail we road today. “The Amasa Back trail (ascends from the Colorado River just west of Moab, climbing up onto an outcropping of rock surrounded on three sides by the Colorado. The trail is a rocky Jeep trail with ledges and drop-offs, and is for advanced riders. As an out-and-back, the trip is 10 miles. Vertical climb is 1050 feet.” It was a pretty cool little trail to start things off.
